bills, renewals, school notices, appointments, deliveries, parcels to collect, things to sign, things that expire and anything else with a date in gmail. events in google calendar that ask you to bring, pay or sign something. your google tasks. or forward any email to your own private address.
five a day.
each morning it ranks everything and deals up to five for today and five for tomorrow. appointments and deliveries wait until they're close. direct debits and rate changes show up the day before as a heads-up, never one of the five.
splash it out.
run your finger across a task, or hold it, and it splashes out with ink. tick off a google task here and it's ticked off in google too.
your list, your way.
add your own, drag them into order, move one to tomorrow or let it go. the done list keeps the splashes.

gmail and calendar are read-only. promotions, social and forums are never searched. you choose which sources to connect, and can pause or disconnect any of them.
what it keeps.
for each task: a short title, the due date, any amount, the sender's name and a short summary it writes itself. no links, no account numbers, nothing else from the email. a health appointment is just "appointment", with no sender and no words from the email.
what it never does.
nothing from your inbox goes to analytics or advertising tools. done tasks are deleted after 30 days, and deleting your account removes everything at once.

do i need a google account?
no. try it first without signing in, add your own tasks and forward emails to your private address. connecting gmail, calendar and google tasks needs a google account.
who can connect gmail?
while ink. today is in testing, only invited testers can connect gmail, calendar and google tasks. anyone can try it first without signing in, or sign in with google.
which school emails does it understand?
compass event reminders and news, naavi newsletters and emails from teachers and staff. it pulls out the event, what's needed (consent, payment, a form) and the deadline.
does it work with outlook or on iphone?
it runs in any phone or computer browser. outlook, apple sign-in and a phone app aren't there yet.
