how to use it.

go on tour. top right. pick a task; the tour says what to tap, you tap it, it goes on.

capture a song

  • import song. a wav, mp3 or m4a. 10 to 40 seconds of one part works best.
  • microphone and browser audio work in the app's own tab, not on this page.
  • trim. name it, drag the red lines, play to check, analyse.

write your own

  • compose song, beside my songs. name it.
  • chords. the button beside the heading opens the sheet: + on each chord, then + up top. drag a bar to reorder.
  • tab. tap a string to write a note. drag to move, pull the end to hold, hold still to delete. tap an articulation icon to read what it does.
  • mini tab. floats under the play controls once the tab scrolls away: tap, hold, drag the red line.
  • lead. the scales button beside tab: open the neck, record, play notes, add to song.
  • sound. the guitar button in the play controls: acoustic or electric, pedals.

read and practise

  • chords: one box per bar, tap to change. tab: frets, 0 is open. a faded bar is a guess.
  • play follows the chart; the play controls stay at the top. space plays and pauses.
  • speed 0.75× or 0.5×. loop bars. metronome. practice drills the changes.
  • line delay. tap by ear. and tap along to eight clicks.
  • tuner, chords, scales. play a string, a chord or a note to hear it.

fix the count

  • 3/4 4/4 6/8 and ½× 2× beside the tempo; no re-analysis. no steady beat: trim to where the band is in time.
  • simple chords hides the sevenths. the capo line shows where hard shapes get easy.

keep it

  • songs save here, in this browser. share makes a ninety day link. print makes a pdf.
  • delete asks twice.

the fine print. the chart is a best guess from the audio, so every bar is editable. check it by ear before you teach from it. a single instrument charts best; a full mix often does not.

it all runs on your device. audio is never uploaded. songs stay in this browser until you delete them; a shared song sits on our server for ninety days. we count anonymous usage. recording copyrighted music is your responsibility, and your streaming service's terms still apply. provided as is, without warranty.
